The Quad 22L2 is the flagship of the range. This tall, floor-standing model with ultra low distortion twin KEVLAR drivers produces a fast, dynamic bass, extending to around 30Hz at the lower end for real impact and a compelling sense of scale. Bass detail is excellent, tracking precisely every nuance of the deepest double bass while, maintaining an area of open space around instruments.

Voices and instruments sound natural and occupy precise locations in the huge soundstage for a real sense of being there at the live recording. Even in complex orchestral pieces, the instruments can be clearly identified and followed, retaining their own characteristics and personality.

The Quad 22L2 incorporates a heavily braced cabinet reduces internal resonance to minimal levels and the high level of detail and precision exhibited by all the drive units makes for a speaker with both neutrality and resolution - a worthy transducer for the audiophile and music-lover alike.

The gold-plated terminals on the Quad 22L2's offer the facility of bi-wiring. Even if your amplifier has only one set of loudspeaker terminals, significant sonic advantages can be gained by using a good quality bi-wire cable, linking them at the amplifier end, but separating them at the loudspeaker end. This reduces the intermodulation effects and improves the 'openness' and clarity of the speaker still further.

The lustrous piano finish is applied to each speaker by hand over a period of seven days, each of which involves applying a coat of lacquer which must then dry at an ambient temperature before being cut and polished. The final coat is polished to a high gloss finish to produce one of the finest finishes seen on any loudspeaker in this class.
